On April 8, 2025, the Nairobi City County Public Service Board released an official list of shortlisted candidates for various positions within the county’s administration. Built Environment & Urban Planning Sector

The shortlist includes candidates vying for several critical roles aimed at improving Nairobi’s infrastructure and urban management. Among the positions advertised are:

  1. Assistant Director Development Management (JG “P”, 1 Post): Two candidates have been scheduled for interviews on April 23, 2025, starting at 8:20 a.m.
  2. Assistant Director Planning Compliance and Enforcement (JG “P”, 1 Post): Three candidates will face the panel, with interviews beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the same date.
  3. Assistant Director Urban Policy & Research (JG “P”, 1 Post): Two candidates are set to be interviewed starting at 10:00 a.m.
  4. Principal Surveillance and Monitoring Officer (JG “N”, 2 Posts): Four candidates are shortlisted, with interviews scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
  5. Principal Planning Compliance & Enforcement Officer (JG “N”, 2 Posts): Four candidates will be interviewed between 11:40 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.
  6. Principal Building Inspection Officer (JG “N”, 2 Posts): Three candidates are slated for interviews from 1:00 p.m. to 1:40 p.m.
  7. Principal Development Control Officer (JG “N”, 2 Posts): Four candidates will appear before the panel between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
  8. Principal Planner (JG “N”, 6 Posts): A total of eleven candidates have been shortlisted for this role, with interviews spread across the afternoon, from 1:40 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

These positions are pivotal in driving Nairobi’s urban planning, ensuring compliance with development regulations, and fostering sustainable growth in one of Kenya’s most dynamic cities.

Finance Sector

The Finance Sector also features prominently in the recruitment drive, with two key roles up for grabs:

  1. Assistant Director Economic Planning (JG “P”, 1 Post): Two candidates are scheduled for interviews starting at 8:20 a.m. on April 23, 2025.
  2. Assistant Director Accounting & Financial Reporting (JG “P”, 11 Posts): A robust list of nineteen candidates has been shortlisted, with interviews running from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the same day.
