Project Implementation Unit (PIU) – World Bank SDIP Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) Project
The Ministry of Investments, Trade, and Industry (MITI), in collaboration with the World Bank, is implementing the Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) Project. This transformative initiative focuses on enhancing job creation, supporting sustainable practices among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and addressing critical regulatory, financial, and environmental constraints.
To achieve these objectives, the State Department for Investment Promotion (SDIP) is recruiting for the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), which will manage, monitor, and evaluate the KJET Project. The following positions, based in Nairobi, Kenya, are now open for applications:
Available Positions
1. Project Director (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 1/2025
The Project Director will oversee the overall implementation, coordination, and management of the KJET Project. Key responsibilities include ensuring alignment with project objectives, liaising with stakeholders, and providing strategic direction to the PIU.
2. Financial Management Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 2/2025
This role entails managing the project’s financial systems and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations. The Financial Management Specialist will prepare budgets, oversee audits, and monitor expenditures.
3. Project Accountant (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 3/2025
The Project Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, process payments, and prepare financial reports for the KJET Project. This role supports the Financial Management Specialist to ensure financial transparency.
4. Procurement Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 4/2025
Responsible for all procurement activities, the Procurement Specialist will ensure goods and services are sourced in compliance with World Bank procurement guidelines and policies.
5. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 5/2025
The M&E Specialist will design and implement frameworks to monitor project progress and assess the achievement of key performance indicators. They will provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
6. Communications Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 6/2025
This role involves developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance the visibility of the KJET Project. The Communications Specialist will manage public relations and stakeholder engagement.
7. Environmental and Social Risks Management (ESRM) Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 7/2025
The ESRM Specialist will ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards, assess project risks, and recommend mitigation measures to promote sustainable project outcomes.
8. Legal Specialist (1 Post) – Vacancy No. 8/2025
The Legal Specialist will provide legal advice, ensure regulatory compliance, and draft contracts and agreements related to the KJET Project.
