Interviewer: What are your strengths?

Example 1: My strength is multitasking ❌

Example 2: My strength is that I am a perfectionist ❌

If someone says this in an interview, it is indeed a ref flag 🚩

But why?

Multitasking sounds like the best answer but for interviewers, multitasking is a sign that someone is lacking focus.

Usually, multitasking is always less productive, making a lot of mistakes and always making halfway work.

Instead of multitasking, what can we say “managing priorities” or “time management”

✅ Examples are correct:
“I’m good at distinguishing which work should be prioritized to make sure every task is given the attention it deserves.”

Perfectionists are also powerful answers, but for interviewers, you are the kind of person who struggles to meet the deadlines or is prone to overthinking even for small assignments and is kind of difficult to move on as long as the job is not “perfect”.

Basically, this is a weakness, not a strength.

✅ Examples are correct:
“I have high standards for my work, but I also know when to move forward to maintain efficiency.”

In conclusion, don’t make cliché answers easy. Twist the sentence a little and show that you can be focused, efficient and most importantly know when to deliver the results.
