The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) is pleased to invite eligible and qualified consultants to submit proposals for the provision of consultancy services to prepare KNBS for certification on Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard. This initiative underscores KNBS’s commitment to enhancing its information security framework to align with international standards, thereby ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical data and systems.
As Kenya’s principal agency responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating statistical data, KNBS handles vast amounts of sensitive information that necessitate robust security measures. In light of the increasing complexity of cyber threats and the growing need for compliance with global best practices, the adoption and certification of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 is a strategic priority for KNBS. This internationally recognized standard provides a systematic approach to managing sensitive information, encompassing people, processes, and technology.
The selected consultant will play a crucial role in assisting KNBS in developing and implementing the required ISMS framework, conducting gap analysis, training staff, preparing documentation, and guiding the organization through the certification process. This project aims to bolster the Bureau’s resilience against information security risks while fostering trust among stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, and the general public.
KNBS invites qualified firms or individuals with extensive experience in implementing ISMS standards to participate in this tender. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical expertise, experience, methodology, and value for money. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a national initiative that will significantly enhance Kenya’s statistical data management and security capabilities.
The deadline for submission and further details regarding eligibility, scope of work, and evaluation criteria are outlined in this RFP document.
