The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Kenya has opened up over 1,000 opportunities for entry-level job seekers across various ministries and departments. This significant recruitment initiative provides an excellent platform for fresh graduates and early-career professionals to launch their journey into public service. These roles are clearly classified as entry-level, which means no prior job experience is required. Candidates will be placed in training and learning roles, directly supervised by senior officers.

Entry-Level Jobs in the Public Service

Entry-level positions in government service are meant to give new employees both exposure and growth. They are not just job roles, but career starting points. Officers appointed to these grades will:

  • Be trained on the job
  • Work under a senior officer’s supervision
  • Handle delegated responsibilities while learning
  • Receive support through mentorship and capacity building

These roles come with fixed salaries, allowances, and job security in accordance with the civil service structure.

These jobs are ideal for:

  • Recent graduates who have completed their studies and obtained certificates by 8th July 2025
  • Individuals with recognized diplomas and degrees from Kenyan or accredited foreign institutions
  • Fresh job seekers looking to begin their careers in government

The PSC has also emphasized inclusive hiring practices. Therefore:

  • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
  • Members of marginalized communities
  • Ethnic minorities

are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You Need to Know Before You Apply

Before you begin filling the online application form, it is important to understand what is required, what documents matter, and when.

These actions will lead to automatic disqualification and may result in legal action or being blacklisted for future opportunities.

Practical Recommendations

  1. Apply using a laptop or desktop computer for a better user interface.
  2. A tablet or smartphone may also work, but desktops offer fewer errors.
  3. Ensure your internet connection is strong and stable.
