Should you still apply for a job, even when you’re not 100% qualified for it?

Contents
BIG MISTAKE.WHY?

One day, you find a perfect opening that you would love to apply for.

However, it asks for 2-3 years of experience, but you only have ONE.

You fail to tick every single box of requirements in the job description too.

So you tell yourself, “I’m not qualified for this; there’s no use applying.”

BIG MISTAKE.

When you meet 100% of the qualifications for a job:

– You won’t be challenged.
– You won’t have room to grow.
– You will get bored and frustrated very soon.
– Don’t settle for that ‘perfect match.’

Instead, do not hesitate to apply for jobs which you’re excited about, even when you only meet 60%-80% of the qualifications.

WHY?

– It’s highly unlikely that any candidate will meet every single criterion.
– The work will be challenging, and that’s how you’ll learn & grow.
– There’s no harm in applying.
– Don’t allow imposter syndrome or a lack of self-confidence to stop you from getting the job you deserve.

You’ll never know if you have a chance unless you take that chance.
