The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) is established by the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF) Act Cap 214 under the Ministry of Education whose mandate is to help coordinate and harmonize education, training, assessment and quality assurance of all qualifications awarded in the country; with the view to improving quality and international comparability.

Pursuant to this Objective, KNQA hereby invites applications from suitably qualified citizens seeking to recruit highly motivated, visionary, dynamic and results oriented candidates for the under mentioned positions:

DRIVER

How to submit an application

  1. Create an account
  2. Complete your profile by filling in your details in all the relevant sections
  3. Click on vacancies tab
  4. On the jobs list, click on view details to access the details of a particular job
  5. At the bottom section of the job’s detail, click on Apply to submit your application

Duties and responsibilities will entail;

  1. Ensure that the work ticket is duly signed and authorized;
  2. Carrying routine checks of the vehicle before commencement of a journey;
  3. Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle;
  4. Keeping up to date work tickets for vehicles;
  5. Driving the vehicle safely within the specified speed limits;
  6. Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle, passengers and goods on and off the road;
  7. Carrying minor repairs on the vehicle;
  8. Ensuring regular servicing of the vehicle as per the manufacturers schedule; 
  9. Ensuring that the vehicles are insured and in good working condition;
  10. Reporting any mechanical/accident problems; and
  11. Submitting regular reports on motor vehicle assigned.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have

  1. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade D+ from a recognized institution; 
  2. Occupational Trade Test II/III for Drivers;
  3. Valid driving license free from any current endorsements; 
  4. Defensive driving certificate from a recognized Institution; 
  5. Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers from the Ministry of Roads and Public Works; 
  6. First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognized institution; 
  7. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct; 
  8. Computer literacy; 
  9. Fulfills the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution

Competencies and Skills 

  1. Interpersonal Skills 
  2. Excellent report writing skills 
  3. Effective communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

Secondary/O Level /A Level

IMPORTANT NOTICE


i. Upon successful upload and submission of application, the applicant will receive a system generated email notification that the job application details have been successfully submitted
ii. KNQA DOES NOT charge any fee in the recruitment process.
iii. Persons with disability, women, marginalized and minority groups are encouraged to apply.
iv. Academic Qualifications from external origin MUST be accompanied with a recognition and equation certificate from the relevant body in Kenya.
v. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.
vi. Successful candidates will be required to fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya and present the following documents: –

a) Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. (DCI)
b) Clearance/ Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board. (HELB)
c) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority. (KRA)
d) Clearance from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission. (EACC)
