About Konza Technopolis
The mission of KoTDA is “To develop a thriving sustainable smart city and a vibrant innovation ecosystem contributing to Kenya’s knowledge economy.” Konza Technopolis is designed as a hub for Education Institutions, Research & Development Centers, and commercial enterprises in Life Sciences, Engineering, and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES). As a Special Economic Zone, it offers targeted incentives for participating enterprises, fostering innovation and growth.
Internship Details
The internship program aims to provide hands-on experience and professional growth for recent graduates. The available internship positions are outlined below:
1. Urban Planning & Permitting/Development Control & Enforcement
- Support urban planning and permitting activities to ensure compliance with development regulations.
- Assist in monitoring and enforcing development standards.
- Collaborate with the team to manage urban planning projects.
2. Surveying & GIS
- Assist in data collection, mapping, and GIS analysis.
- Provide support in surveying and updating land information systems.
- Work on geospatial projects to enhance land management processes.
3. Environment, Health & Safety
- Participate in environmental audits and risk assessments.
- Support the implementation of health and safety standards.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and safety guidelines.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data for project evaluation.
- Support the development of quality assurance frameworks.
- Participate in preparing monitoring and evaluation reports.
5. Research, Policy & Strategy
- Conduct research to support policy formulation and strategic planning.
- Assist in drafting policy briefs and reports.
- Collaborate with teams to implement research findings.
6. Supply Chain Management
- Support procurement and inventory management activities.
- Assist in supplier evaluation and contract management.
- Participate in enhancing supply chain efficiency.
7. Project Management
- Provide administrative support to project teams.
- Assist in tracking project progress and milestones.
- Collaborate in preparing project documentation.
8. Property Management
- Support the management of real estate assets within the Technopolis.
- Assist in tenant relations and property maintenance.
- Participate in updating property records and contracts.
9. Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
- Assist in developing and maintaining IT systems.
- Provide technical support for hardware and software issues.
- Participate in ICT-related projects to enhance operational efficiency.
10. Engineering
- Support engineering projects and activities within the Technopolis.
- Assist in drafting technical reports and project designs.
- Collaborate on maintenance and infrastructure development.
11. Security Operations & Emergency Services
- Assist in implementing security measures and emergency response plans.
- Participate in risk assessments and security audits.
- Support the coordination of emergency services.
Requirements
To be considered for an internship position, applicants should submit the following:
